Real Life. My Music. exists to create a safer and healthier Detroit for our school children by providing them access to quality afterschool programming that emphasizes structured training in fine arts; specifically music and dance.
By offering students an artistic outlet in which to express themselves and by supporting their interest in pursuing fine arts programs if they choose to do so, it is our belief that they will not only learn an art form, but also develop positive characteristics and skills that are proven to be correlated with the improvement of academic and personal outcomes.
We are currently in search of creative, passionate and talented students majoring in marketing, communication or public relations that would like to join us in mobilizing our 2013 campaign while earning college credit.
We are also looking for community volunteers to spread the word and build awareness of Real Life. My Music. This opportunity is ideal for those high school students looking for community service hours in order to meet state graduating requirements as well as anyone in town who shares our values and would like to make a difference.
